Volunteers Support Gulf Oil Spill Rescue Efforts

Concerned and eager Americans are volunteering their efforts and expertise to help with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill rescue efforts. From organizations dedicated to caring for ailing wildlife to volunteers offering their time to help clean up the sands and beaches, such efforts are the glimmers of hope as the country wrestles with its worst man-made environmental disaster.

For instance, in Florida, The Governor’s Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service is encouraging individuals who live along or are visiting coastal communities to watch for oiled wildlife, vegetation, and beaches by becoming a Coast Watch volunteer.

And the California Community Foundation, the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund and the Gulf Coast Fund, a special project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors are all accepting donations and rallying support for the rescue efforts.

Still many are cautioning all eager Americans who want to lend their time or money to the rescue efforts to be careful where they donate to or offer their time to. They are encouraging individuals to investigate the relief organization prior to giving their time or to always donate to a reputable and established institution.

  1. This is why some Democrats have to be kicked out in Nov. In real life they are DINOS! Just like the Republicans who are in the pockets of Special Interest! and don’t care what happens to the Gulf or the people there or anyone else in this country.
